Kenneth “Dickie” Sears

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kenneth “Dickie” Sears, a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, who left us peacefully on February 14, 2025, at the age of 71.

He was born June 27, 1953, in Somerset, Kentucky. He was a man of few words, but you always knew where you stood with him. He enjoyed making people laugh. He was a dedicated employee for 22 years at IMCBA and retired in 2013. Though his last few years were not the easiest, he continued to appreciate the time he spent with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Pearl Sears; brothers: Robert Strunk, Earl Strunk, George Strunk, James “Bear” Strunk; sisters: Margaret Serrapere, Hazel Douglas, Judy Sears. He is survived by his wife Theresa Sears of 46 years. Other survivors include: his brother Walter (Sherry) Sears; two sons: Kenneth “Richie” Sears II, Jacob (Ashley) Sears; eight grandchildren: Alexis (Shawn) Nguyen, Sydney Sears, Kendra Sears, Karly Sears, Noah Sears, Logan Sears, Aiden Sears, and Mason Sears; one great grandchild on the way and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A sincere thank you to the Franciscan Hospice House for their care and compassion during his last days.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 22nd at West Newton Worship and Youth Center from 1-4pm.
