In Loving Memory of Nicole Adams-Lewis
March 5, 1982 – February 27th, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Nicole Adams-Lewis, a radiant soul who left us far too soon at the age of 42, just six days before her 43rd birthday. Nicole passed away in her sleep in Danville, IN, after suffering a heart attack. Though her time on this earth was brief, the love, warmth, and kindness she shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Born on March 5, 1982, in Chicago, IL, at Michael Reese Hospital, Nicole was a bright light from the very beginning. She faced life’s challenges with strength, having been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the tender age of eight. Throughout her life, she endured numerous health difficulties, navigating each battle with grace, resilience, and a quiet strength. As would many, she grew weary of the constant need to endure, and though we grieve deeply, we take comfort in knowing that she is now whole, healed, and reinvigorated with our Father in Heaven.
Nicole was a devoted wife to Jeremy Lewis and a loving mother to her four beautiful children: Amaya Lynn Lewis (21), Jailen Lewis (19), Saniyah Lewis (15), and Cammyll Lewis (14). Her children were her greatest pride, and she poured her love and creativity into every aspect of their lives.
She had a love for Hello Kitty, a knack for whipping up quick, delicious dishes, and a gift for creating stunning, colorful braids in her daughters’ hair—each style a reflection of her artistic touch and the love she had for them. Nicole’s presence was a source of laughter, comfort, and warmth.
She was the cherished daughter of DeBerl Lynn Adams and Roosevelt Adams, precious stepdaughter to Lisa Adams, a beloved sister to Rick Adams (Margo), Roy Adams, Yual Adams, Keith Adams, Derrick Adams, Dove Adams, Ashley Veazey (Troy), David Adams (Jabrina), Kelly Adams, Terrance Gamble (Erika), and Ladina Gamble. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Nicole’s life was one of love, resilience, and faith. Though she faced more struggles than most, her struggles don’t define her. She embraced life with courage, hope, and an open heart. Her battle is over now, and while we mourn her absence, we also celebrate her peace, freedom, and eternal joy.
Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved. Rest peacefully, dear Nicole, until we meet again.
