Terrence (Terry) Edward Kiefer

Terrence (Terry) Edward Kiefer, 83, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on November 13, 2025.   He was born January 29, 1942 in Elwood Indiana to Edward and Ruth (Harmon) Kiefer.   For the past 41 years, he has been a devoted husband to Kathleen (Kit) Hendry.  He was loved dearly by his children Stephanie (Norb) Fehrman (Kiefer), Jeffrey Kiefer, David Michael (Nilsa) Hendry.  Terry was blessed with 8 grandchildren Tamara Hendry, Trevor Wilson, Trinity Wilson, Hunter Kiefer, Gauge Kiefer, Taylor Goldstein (Fehrman), Garrett Fehrman, and Parrish Fehrman and three great grandchildren Aryette Kildal,  James Wilson, and Maeve Goldstein.  

Terrence was a retired Navy veteran and construction wood worker, dedicating 20 years of his life to serving his country. He was known for his intricate intarsia artwork and his passion for helping family and friends in any way he could. Terrence took great pride in being a grandpa and great grandpa, always enjoying time spent with his family.

Born the oldest of 11 children, Terrence had a deep sense of responsibility and compassion for those around him. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, woodworking, and boating, finding solace in nature and the outdoors.

Terrence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of service, creativity, and love for his family will always be remembered and cherished. May he rest in peace.

Terry is left behind by a very large family of siblings, in laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

  1. Terry was a great friend and very selfless person that opened up his home for me to stay during my EMT training for 6 months, and even allowed me to stay longer. He opened up his home as if I was a son, and treated me as such. For this I’ll be forever grateful. Condolences to the immediate family. I’m extremely happy and lucky to have had the opportunity to know him.
