Debra Ann Brooks, 63, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025. Born on October 31, 1962, Debra was the beloved daughter of the late Lillie Mae Common and S. B. Karol.  

A devoted mother, sister, and friend, Debra’s greatest joy in life was her family. She leaves behind her loving children, Shalance Brooks and Shanika Brooks, who will forever cherish her unwavering support and boundless love. She is also survived by her siblings Emma Common, Cornelius Common, Gable Common, Otha Common, Sadie Harris, Klondike Abbot, and Lillie Common. She was preceded in death by her sisters Mary Abbott, Lottie Ranch, and Ethel Nicole Common, and by her brothers Freddie Common and George Common.  

Debra will be remembered for the warmth of her smile that could light up any room, her wonderful sense of humor, and the kindness that touched everyone she met. A passionate Indianapolis Colts fan, she rarely missed watching a football game and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, creating laughter and memories that will endure for generations.  

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at LovEvents Banquet Hall from 2:30 – 4, 1803 Broadway Street
