Kristy Lei Mitchell

Kristy Lei Mitchell

Kristy Lei Mitchell brought light to this world on April 26, 1970 and peacefully left it a darker place, surrounded by her family on February 28, 2026. She is preceded in death by her mother Connie S. Munk, grandparents Jim and Norma Jean Munk, and great grandparents Marlo and Eunice Stangland. She is survived by her loving husband Donnie Mitchell, her beautiful children Rhiannon (Mitchell) Romine, Tori (Mitchell) Presley and Tyler Mitchell, and her four perfect grandchildren.

Kristy graduated from Central Noble Highschool in 1988. After which she began working for GTE where she stayed for 28 years through every company change until the very end when it became Frontier. In that time she welcomed her first child in 1994. In 1997 her family was made whole when she married the love of her life, became a bonus mom to Rhiannon, and gave birth to Tyler. In 1998, Kristy earned her Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University, then in 2008, completed her education with her Master’s in Business Administration from Indiana Tech. Her dedication to her family, her career and her education inspired all who were around her.

Everyone whose lives she touched would tell you the same thing; she was a firecracker whose spark would brighten the lives of everyone she cared for. Her quick wit and humor would lighten the minds of all who needed a laugh. Her love and compassion showed in everything she did. It warmed the hearts and changed the lives of more people than she could imagine. From her family, friends, coworkers and her children’s friends; her love and light will be carried to touch the hearts of even more.
