Don Davis, age 91 of Daleville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026, at Greenfield Healthcare Center in Greenfield Indiana after a brief illness.
Born at home in Daleville Indiana to Wilburn and Charlene Davis (Bronnenberg).
He was a lifelong resident of Daleville and a 6th generation local Bronnenberg family member. He did extensive research into his genealogy over the years. He attended Indiana University and graduated from Ball State with a Bachelor’s Degree and two Master Degrees. He was a veteran in the Air Force reserve and was sitting in Homestead, Fl waiting for orders during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He taught 5th grade at Westview Elementary School in Muncie Indiana for 37 years. Don loved working in his yard, watching and feeding the wildlife. He loved to travel and made it to all states, except Washington & Oregon. He traveled to Europe and sparked the love of traveling to his sons and grandchildren.
He is survived by his son John (Tia), Naples Florida, his three grandchildren Julie Cornacchia (Aaron), Naples Florida, Alan Davis (Mariah), Indianapolis Indiana & Mary Davis, Naples Florida and his 5 great-grandchildren and stepson Dennis Haulter (Elaine) of Daleville; sisters Melanie Frischkon (Walt), Carmen Kelly and nieces and nephew. He was preceded in death by his son Alan, stepsons Richard Haulter and Ed Haulter, brother Phil Davis, brother-in-law Doug Kelly, nephew David Frischkorn, and his parents.
A private graveside service will be held at Bronnenberg Cemetery in Chesterfield Indiana.
