Dennis Erling Pedersen

Dennis Erling Pedersen was born in Rush city, Minnesota on May 26, 1943. He passed into the arms of Jesus on May 19, 2026, at the age of 82. Dennis accepted Jesus into his life in his mid 20s and has been a servant ever since. He married Linda Dahl in 1970,  they have two sons, Paul (Debbie) and David (Emily), and four grandchildren, Kaia, Tor, Bode, and Vivia. Dennis is survived by 2 sisters, Darlene, and Andi (Randy) and their children. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vivian and Erling Pedersen and brother-in-law Jerry Peterson. Dennis graduated from the University of Minnesota in Electrical Engineering.  He spent most of his career at Honeywell as a Production Engineer in process controls. He was active in prison ministry for over 40 years and has maintained a one-to-one correspondence with an inmate up until his death.  He participated in several short-term mission trips to Mexico building houses for the poorest of the poor.  He was a quiet prayer warrior for his family, his home church Spirit of Joy Church, and for missions and he had a heart for the lost. Through his cancer journey he has experienced “the peace of God that passes all (human) understanding.” Phil 4:8. Dennis together with Linda chose John 12:26 as their life verse.  “Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be.  My Father will honor the one who serves me.”

A celebration of Dennis’s life will be held at Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church on May 30th.  Visitation will begin at 10:00am with a service at 11:00am and a reception to follow.  Spirit of Joy is located at 3535 Kessler Blvd. East Drive Indianapolis, IN 46220.

“ Be faithful onto death and I will give you the crown of life.” Revelation 2:10
