David Scott Lytle passed away on April 29, 2026, in Indiana. He was born on June 19, 1973, in Chicago, Illinois.
Dave grew up in Arlington Heights, Illinois, and graduated from Rolling Meadows High School in 1991. During high school, he competed in golf, wrestling, and baseball before attending Indiana University in Bloomington. At IU, he became a member of Beta Theta Pi, where he formed many lifelong friendships. It was also at IU where he met the love of his life, Lesly. Together they built a beautiful life and raised two wonderful sons, Scott and Drew.
Dave worked for KONE, Inc. for 23 years, with positions in Washington, D.C., Cincinnati, Cleveland, Parkland, Florida, and Indianapolis, where the family eventually settled long term. After leaving KONE, Dave and Lesly invested in Concrete Craft, where they worked side by side for five years. Dave earned numerous franchisee awards and truly enjoyed working with fellow franchisees and clients. He especially loved seeing the happiness his work brought to others. When that chapter ended, Dave turned his attention toward retirement and fulfilled a dream of purchasing an RV.
Dave was happiest helping Scott build his parkour gym, visiting Drew at Indiana University, and traveling with Lesly in their RV.
He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, family member, and friend to so many. Dave left a lasting impression on every person fortunate enough to know him. He was easygoing, loyal, friendly, dedicated, calm, hardworking, and deeply loving. He loved live music, mountains and the ocean. His sense of humor drew people in, and he always made sure others were cared for. His laugh and contagious smile will live on forever in our memories and photographs.
Though he struggled with his mental health, Dave fought hard for a long time. We hope he is forever listening to Carrie, laughing at Sven, watching Scott and Drew do adult life and is not hurting anymore.
Dave is survived by his beloved wife, Lesly Lytle; his sons, Scott (Lily Eggleston) and Drew Lytle; his parents, Donna and Rick Lytle; his brother, Rick Lytle; sister-in-laws, Laura Bellino and Lici Lytle; brother-in-law, Mike Bellino; best uncle ever to Michael Bellino, Marissa Bellino, Ricky Lytle IV, and Katherine Lytle. Numerous important cousins, aunts, uncles, outlaws, and friends. We will miss him tremendously.

Lesly…
Mel and I are so sorry and our thoughts/prayers are with you and the boys…
Know we’ve not been in close touch over recent years, but you and Dave will always be very special friends to us.
So many fun times – especially during our Chesapeake Beach days…Those are the memories we carry forward.
Love – Mel and Adam..
Lesly,
I was heartbroken to hear about Dave’s passing. He was my first boss and mentor at KONE, and I can honestly say he had a tremendous impact on my career and on the person I became professionally. He taught me so much during my years in Indianapolis, but what I remember most is not just what he taught – it was how he treated people.
Dave had a way of making others feel valued, supported, and capable. He led with kindness, patience, and humility, and those qualities left a lasting impression on me. I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from him.
I also have such fond memories of you both. You and Dave were always wonderful people, and it was easy to see how much he loved his family. Reading about Scott and Drew and the life you built together brought back many memories.
Please know that you, Scott, and Drew are in my thoughts. Dave’s influence reached far beyond his family and close friends – he made a difference in the lives of so many people, including mine. I will always be grateful for the time I had with him and will carry many of the lessons he taught me throughout my career.
Sending you my deepest condolences and keeping your family in my prayers. – Whitney (Rousselow) Janozik
