March 6, 1961 – October 14, 2025
Andrew John Moran, 64, of Indianapolis Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, at his home. Born on March 6, 1961, in Anderson Indiana, Andrew lived a life dedicated to his family and loved ones.
He attended 2 years at Indiana University. He later worked in the restaurant and retail business to which his customers loved him. He was an avid sports fan. He loved watching Indiana University and the Cubs. Even though we lived 50 miles away, he was sure the referees could hear him admonish them. He enjoyed keeping the perfect lawn. He loved playing poker. He has kind words for everyone he meets unless he meets you on the road.
Andy spent the last 3 years caring for his wife, Lynda through her cancer treatments and he hated missing an appointment. Even later in his weakened state when he no longer had the strength to enter the Cancer Center he would listen to the doctors through phone so he could be involved. He wanted the best care for his wife even though she’s now in the final stage.
Andrew was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynda Johnson Moran; his son, John Moran; his daughter, Erin Moran; his stepson, William Johnson; his stepdaughter, Amee Johnson; his grandchildren, Jonathan (Moran) Taylor, James McIlhenny, Robert McIlhenny, Elijah Moran, Gabriel Otter, Amelie Hall, Jae Shin Pratt, and Winry Johnson; His brothers, Larry Moran, Paul Moran; sister, Patricia (Ken) Pratt; Two very special nephews, Chuck Moran, and Steve Riha.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Moran and Mary Jane (Calvert) Moran, his siblings, Chick Moran, Dorothy Riha, Tim Moran, Joyce Calabria, and Greg Moran.
I tell you the truth, whoever hears what I say and believes in the one who sent me has eternal life. That person will not be judged guilty but has already left death and entered life. John 5:24
Services will be determined at a later date where there will be a celebration of life with music and food.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate in his name to the American Lung Association, Community Cancer Center North, and/or Brighton Hospice.

So sorry and sad to learn of Andy’s passing. I’ve known him since grade school at St. Ambrose, then my wife and I both went through high school with him. We spent a lot of time together through those years, and we made several Scout/Explorer trips together. We kind of fell out of touch within a couple of years after graduating and went our separate ways. We’re glad to know that he went peacefully.
