Andrew Robert Bolanos passed away unexpectedly at the age of 61 on February 16th.

A lifelong Indiana resident, Andrew graduated from North Central High School in Indianapolis and earned an undergraduate degree at Indiana University Bloomington where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. From an early age he was animated by a strong creative spirit and found joy in drawing as well as experimenting in various art forms, even trying his hand at ice sculpting.

Andrew exuded a youthful energy his entire life and was a beloved uncle to his young nephews and nieces. Always gregarious and ready to make a new friend among strangers, he loved to share his passion for local sports teams with fellow fans. He also had a very strong connection with the outdoors, cycling countless miles on the Monon Trail and often taking time to contemplate the night sky which was, for him, a powerful source of inspiration.

Andrew was preceded in death by his parents Patricia and Raul, his brother Steve, and brother-in-law Michael. He is survived by his heartbroken siblings Michael (Darlene), Angela (Michael) Byrne, Anthony, Ramon (Elinor), Veronica (Scott) Sanders, and Ben (Theresa) as well as ten nieces and nephews.

Services shall be kept private at the request of the family. In honor of Andrew’s life donations may be made to the Indianapolis Cultural Trail.
