Ashley Sue McCray, age 35, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on February 21, 1990, in Indianapolis. Ashley was a beloved daughter, mother, partner, sister, aunt, & friend. She will forever be remembered by her vivacious personality, contagious laughter, and her ability to make anyone feel comforted.
Ashley is lovingly survived by her partner, James; her three beloved children: Cloee, Kylie, and Jacob; her cherished stepdaughters: Alexis, Karah, Emily, and Falyn. She is also survived by her devoted mother, Beverly; father, Kevin; and her stepfather, Frank. Ashley leaves behind her sister, Amy and brother-in-law, Eddie; her brother Michael; and her stepsiblings, Chassidy and Elijah. She also leaves behind her dear niece and nephew, Lena & Darrin; her lifelong friend, Libby, and her beautiful grandbabies.
She is preceded in death by, the father of her first child, Jeremiah; and her aunt, Brenda and uncle, Elvis.
Ashley’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She had a one-of-a-kind spirit that lit up every room she entered. She was known for her infectious laughter, her blonde moments, and her humor that could lift a mood on the darkest of days. Though she faced her own struggles and carried silent burdens, she never let them define her. She had a rare gift for making others feel seen, valued, and loved. Her compassion and radiant presence will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Southeastway park at 5624 S Carroll Rd, Indianapolis, Indiana; on Sunday, June 29, 2025, from 12:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. We kindly ask that there be no alcohol; instead let’s celebrate with her laughter, joy, and sharing all the good times! Let’s all work together to remember the amazing person she was.
