Barbara Holder was born in Conway, Arkansas, to Angia Lee (Lack) and Thomas Edward Pender, both of whom preceded her in death.

Barbara graduated from Blue River High School in 1973. 

She was a devoted sister to Lissa Parry of New Castle and Susan Turner.

She was the beloved wife of Barry Holder, who preceded her in death. We take comfort in knowing they are together once again, dancing in Heaven.

Barbara was a loving mother to Chris Shoaf, Aaron Davis, Joe Davis (Kristy), Anna Dillion, Adrian Kennedy as well as Victor Shoaf, who preceded her in death. 

She was a proud grandmother to Hannah Davis, Elijah Shoaf, and Adara Davis.

She was also a cherished aunt to Abby (Chris) Webb, Angie (Jarrod) Taylor, and Amber Wise.

Barbara found joy in fishing, playing euchre, baking the best sourdough bread, and making sure no one ever had to cook on their birthday. She especially loved Christmas, Easter, and any opportunity to gather with family and friends.

After a courageous battle with cancer, Barbara passed away surrounded by the love of those who cherished her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 8 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God, 3600 S. Memorial Drive. New Castle, IN
