Beverly KAY Swanson

Beverly KAY Swanson, 79, of Westfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on October 1, 2025, after battling a prolonged illness. 

Beverly was born on December 17, 1945, to Naomi and Floyd Staab and grew up in the close-knit community of Morrill, Nebraska. After graduation, she met her future husband, embarking on a new chapter that eventually led her to Las Vegas. Beverly was blessed with seven children. Demonstrating incredible resilience and determination as a single parent, she chose to pursue a fulfilling career in nursing, earning her certification in 1979. Beverly went on to work the night shift in many cities and states over the years retiring in Noblesville, Indiana in 2010.  After her retirement, she enjoyed taking long road trips to see her children and grandchildren, crocheting blankets, working on puzzles, immersing herself in the local news and watching “cop shows”. 

Beverly is survived by her two sisters, Janice Hubbs of Fort Collins, CO, and Pamela Hanson of Spearfish, SD; her children, Cindy (Jay) Blakemore of Lander, WY; Melissa (Scott) Peters of Beaverton, OR; Melinda (Bill) White of Portland, OR; Sheri (Phil) Zmich of Westfield, IN; Brian Firestone of Carlisle, IN; Teresa (Allen) Terwilliger of Waxhaw, NC.  

She was a proud grandma (Grandma B) to Justin, Nicholle, Lester, William, Tanner (Theresa), Levi, Matt (Grace), Samantha (Antonio), Brad, Kellie (Matt), Jenna, Caitlyn, Michael, Hannah (Cody), Jacob, Matthew and Ryan as well as her 17 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tina; her granddaughter, Lily; her parents; and three brothers, Don, Gene and Ted Staab. 

A memorial celebration to honor Beverly’s life will be held at a later date.

  1. Cindy Blakemore, I’m sorry for your loss sweet cousin. Your mom was truly beautiful. I have so many memories of Aunt Naomi and Uncle Floyd’s place in Morrill, Nebraska as a child, but wish I could have known more about my cousins.
    I pray you find healing strength in the memories y’all created. In God’s Blessings dear cousin.
