Carol Glazar

Summary

Carol Ann (Bottos) Glazar, 72, of St. Paul, IN passed into the healing arms of Jesus on Monday, December 2, 2024 while in hospice care after battling cancer.

Carol was born in Gary, IN and graduated from Lew Wallace High School. She worked at Central Florist in Merrillville, retired from the Allstate Catastrophe team, and later worked at Caesar’s Horseshoe Casino Indianapolis.

She is survived by Gregory Glazar, her beloved spouse of 29 years of St. Paul, IN; her daughter Sarah married to Daniel Carnes and grandchildren, Cole and Caelen, of Bloomington, IN; her daughter Molly married to James Vaccaro and granddaughter, Alaina, of Mooresville, NC; Gregory’s son Tyler married to Angela Glazar and grandchildren, Payton and Ryder, of Montgomery, TX; Gregory’s daughter Rebecca married to Kyle Johnson and granddaughters; Charlotte, Abigail, Eleanor and Isabelle, of Montgomery, TX; her sisters, Nancy Thomas of Sugar Land, TX; Sandra Hindbaugh of Moscow, MI, and Patricia married to Joseph Campano of Brownsburg, IN; also numerous nieces, nephews and their children. She was preceded in death by both her parents and brother, Gerald Bottos.

Carol loved the outdoors, all of God’s creatures, and the beauty of His creation everywhere she visited. She traveled extensively with her job at Allstate and with her husband. As a founding member of the aptly named “Crazy Club”, Carol cherished their nearly 50 years of semiannual campouts. She was a very talented crafter and floral decorator. Carol had too many beloved pets to count. As an avid reader, she was often found with a book in her hand. Canning her freshly grown garden produce and making salsa was a fulfilling hobby as well as sharing her jellies and outstanding baked cookies and pies.

Carol loved her husband, family, friends and coworkers. She will be missed by those whose lives she touched. She will be cremated with a celebration of life planned on a future date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to FACE Low- Cost Animal Clinic https://faceanimalclinic.org/ or the Cancer Association of Shelby County which lent Carol much needed equipment https://cancerassociationofshelbycountyindiana.org/donate/.

  2. I worked with Carol at Allstate in the 90s. She became one of my favorite people very quickly and was excited when she moved to Plantersville, just a few houses down! She was always so giving, made us Christmas cookies, always sharing her knowledge and loving on my babies. She was very influential in my life and I have the fondest memories of her. She was a shining light for my family. My deepest condolences for her family, I know she will forever be cherished by many.

  3. My heartfelt condolences to the entire family. I love you all very much and am sending hugs your way. Rest in peace, Aunt Carol!

  4. So sad to hear this. I did not know Carol at Lew Wallace High School, altho I was good friends with Nancy and Renee. A year ago I was betting at the Horse Track, talking with another guy about the local Bronko’s Pizza. Small world, we start talking, and she is a Bottos, Nancy’s Sister. R.I.P.

  5. I was lucky enough to be trained by Carol when I first graduated college and joined the CAT team. She was like a mom to me on the road and I will forever cherish memories of her. She was so kind and funny and down to earth. And a great cook. I was lucky enough to come to her house in Indiana and have dinner with her and Bones several years ago. I’m so so sad she has passed. She truly has a big spot in my heart. Sending thoughts and prayers to family, I know she’ll be so incredibly missed.

  6. Sarah, Molly and family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Your mom was such a bright sole, always had the greatest energy every time I was around her. I will remember her always and will be sending prayers and love to you all during this difficult time.

  7. So blessed to have been apart of Carol’s life. Crazy Club girls forever. I will miss our walks. You are missed. Prayers for the family.
