Summary
Chuck Stailey, age 65, of Fortville, Indiana, passed away on January 10, 2024, at Greenfield Healthcare Center in Greenfield, Indiana, after a long battle with chronic heart failure.
He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to the late Richard Stailey and Janet M. Stailey. Chuck earned a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, in 1981. He worked with embedded software as an employee and a private contractor for all of his working years.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Darlene Teague Stailey; brother Mark Stailey; sister, Pam Stailey;nephews Quinten Greer and Damon Greer, grandson, Linus Gates, godchildren Andrea (Tappy) Krebsbach and Ross Tappy.
Motorcycles, NHRA drag racing, golf, volleyball, bowling, and finding the best food around were some of the activities Chuck enjoyed. He had a contagious laugh and a keen wit. Chuck raced slot cars, built and flew model planes and rockets, played trumpet, sang, and ran sound and lights for bands. He often referred to himself as an idea man. No kidding! He was always thinking of designing new things or making improvements on old. He was generous with his time and possessions. He loved his cats. “We love all the kitties!” and all the kitties loved him. Most of all, he loved his God. He wanted to honor God with his whole life and help others know Jesus.
The family is planning a celebration of life service at a later date.
