Charles Lee Hitchcox

Charles Lee Hitchcox, 88, passed peacefully in his main home in Indianapolis, Indiana, surrounded by those who truly loved him on the 11th of March 2025.  Charles was born to the late Bernard Hitchcox and Gladys Clowers on December 13, 1936, in Bloomington, Indiana.

Throughout his life, he loved golf and even worked as a caddy as a young boy.

He was also a proud veteran, serving in both the Air Force and Navy for four years each. After the military, he found work at Navistar, where he dedicated 37 years of his life.

He had a loving wife, who preceded him in death about a couple years ago. They were together nearly 60 years and married for 40. They had a blended family of children, and they loved all the grandkids and all the children. The highest honor they held in life was being Nana and Papa, they loved that job more than anything else.

Throughout life, he was an amazing father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He had six children, including Anita, Anna, Monty, Rhonda, Terry, and Larry, who unfortunately passed.

After his years of hard work, he retired to Silver Springs, Florida.

Per his wishes, a Celebration of Life will be hosted by the family and announced at a later date.

Arrangements entrusted to Simple Cremation Indianapolis, 6904 S. East Street, Suite E, Indianapolis, IN., (317)361-4516.
