Summary

Charles M. Bechtel, 81, passed away on September 16, 2024, surrounded by family.

Charles was born August 6, 1943 in Oil City, PA to the late William T. and Mary Joyce (Coughlan) Bechtel.

Charles was raised in Indiana where he lived and worked throughout his life. He graduated from Thomas Carr Howe High School in 1962. Charles owned and operated several health clubs over the course of his career.

Charles is survived by his wife of 30 years, Keida Bechtel; his children, Matt Bechtel (Cindy), Mollie (Bechtel) Sennott (Tom), and Jason Bechtel; two stepsons, Chad A. Bohm (Amy) and Bradley P. Bohm. He was blessed with six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Charles is also survived by a brother, Ted Bechtel (Harriet) of Ashville, NC; sisters, Judy Turner of Phoenix, AZ and Susie McAmis of Augusta, GA; sisters-in-law, Jan Bechtel of Carmel, IN and Debra Fisher Bechtel of St. Inigoes, MD.

Charles was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Bechtel and Lee Bechtel.

In honor of Charles, family, friends, and neighbors are invited to a celebration of life from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at New Beginnings Community Church, located at 8657 Waverly Road, Martinsville, IN 46151.
