Cheryl Blevins

Cheryl B. Blevins, 74, of Plainfield, passed away June 23, 2025. She was born July 3, 1950, to the late Frank (Bud) Sr. and Marie (Decker) Klave in Indianapolis, IN. While she worked in various capacities over the years, her greatest fulfillment and proudest roles came from being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Cheryl was raised in the Catholic faith, attending Catholic school in her youth. While she occasionally returned to Mass, she spent much of her adult life as a member of Plainfield Christian Church. Cheryl had a love for sweets, all things Christmas, and a soft spot for Hallmark movies. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, shopping (especially when picking out gifts for others), playing Bingo with friends, and doing anything that involved spending time with her family and her French bulldog, Fendi. She was kind and compassionate, selfless and giving, and the love she had for her family wasn’t just spoken, it was without conditions and felt within your heart. She was beautiful inside and out, funny without trying to be, and would do anything for those she loved without hesitation, at any time of the day or night. She always showed up in the way that you didn’t have to wonder if she’d be there, because you knew, without hesitation, that she would be. She was the proudest mother and grandmother, only she didn’t realize that her family had only become who they were because of her. She was loved beyond measure and her memory will forever be cherished and celebrated by those who were blessed enough to be loved by her. Cheryl is survived by her daughter, Amber M. Weyrich; a stepdaughter, Diane O. Rackmil; a sister, Jacqueline Young; a brother Frank Jr. Klave and 5 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oakley R. Blevins; a stepson, Terry R. Blevins and a sister, Donna Kirschbaum. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00pm-5:00pm on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Encore at Perry Crossing, located at 584 Stone Table Blvd. in Plainfield, where family and friends can gather to share memories and honor the life of Cheryl. Memorial contributions can be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
