Christine Lynn Fredette, 60, beloved wife and mother, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on February 3rd, 2026 at IU West in Avon, Indiana after long battles with numerous health issues.
Christine was a loving, self sacrificing, and supportive mother to all of her children. She spent much of her life working hard to provide for and ensure the best opportunities possible for her children whom she loved deeply and fully. She also loved and will be greatly missed by her husband of 30 years with whom she shared her life and passions with, words can not express their time as husband and wife.
Christine was a kind and compassionate person who very easily made friends in every setting. She would often go out of her way to help those friends, family and expecting mothers in need. There are three humans on this planet that would not be here today if it wasn’t for Christine opening her home and heart to their mothers. Despite not having much wealth or surplus, she always shared what she did have with others. There was rarely a time in her life where her modest home had not been open to those in need without judgement. She was always able to find extra space in her home and heart if she had the opportunity to help another person.
Her generosity and compassion also extended into her love for animals. She had too kind of a heart to allow any creatures to suffer, and because of this took in stray animals throughout her life to give them a better home. Most recently, caring for her grey long hair cat “Thomas” brought her great joy.
Christine is survived by her husband Steve Fredette (62).
Brothers: Robert J. Butler III (61), Nick Nelson Bryant (56).
Children: Katherine Zaiger (37), Audrey Fredette (28), Vallory Fredette (23), Mary Fredette (37), Steven Fredette (36), Hollie Fredette (33), Sierra Fredette (32), Hayley Saylor (25).
Grandchildren: Alex, Braedon, Miley, Moises, Logan, Makenzie, Ella, Steven, Caroline, Jacob, including Xavier and Ben.
Christine is preceded in death by her stepdaughter Emily Hartzler (38), her mother Charlotte Wilson (63) and stepfather Max Wilson (82).
(Genealogy note: The first 3 children listed are biological, the rest are stepchildren and others that she loved as her own and they called her “mom”. At this point she had zero biological grandchildren, though those listed as such were loved by her as if they were).

No family could ever do one thing without remembering Christine. I’ll always remember coming over to their house on weekends she treated me like I was one of her own. She always made that bomb ass spaghetti that no one could ever replicate, and I will forever treasure all the game nights and girls’ nights we spent laughing, talking, and just being together. Those memories, her kindness, and the way she made everyone feel like family will stay with me forever. I’ll always remember her.
