Summary

Clyneese Berry
Passed away on Monday, October 15, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clyneese U. Berry, who departed this life to be with the Lord on October 15, 2024. Born on February 10, 1955, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the union of George K. Taylor and JoAnn Taylor, Clyneese lived a life filled with love, faith, and kindness.

Clyneese attended Harry E. Woods High School in Indianapolis and was known for her strong work ethic, having held various jobs throughout her life where she was always considered a dedicated and valuable team member.

However, Clyneese's primary role in life was that of a loving mother and grandmother. She cherished her family above all else, especially her two granddaughters, Jasmire Noel and Carla Yarbro, and her great-grandson, Nehemiah King. Despite the physical distance between their homes, Clyneese stayed close to them, engaging over the phone, celebrating their milestones, attending their special events whenever possible, and joyfully exploring their lives through photographs. She adored watching them grow, and they were truly the light of her life. Clyneese will be deeply missed by her daughter, JoAnn Hart, her grandchildren, and her great-grandson, who will always carry her love with them.

Clyneese was united in marriage to Howard Woods, and from this union, they were blessed with a son, Darnell (Howard) Woods. Clyneese also shared her life with her loving fiancé, Larry Hart, with whom she had her daughter, JoAnn.

A woman of deep faith, Clyneese found her relationship with God early in life, and she held on to that faith steadfastly throughout the years until the day He called her home. She was known for her giving spirit, always willing to help others, often saying she would give you the shirt off her back—but with a sharp wit to remind you not to cross her, or she’d take it back! Her fierce loyalty and protective nature made her someone you always wanted in your corner.

Clyneese shared a special bond with her brother, Evan ("Stormy"), and their relationship was full of love and laughter—a whirlwind of joy and connection that will never be forgotten. However, her kindness and warmth extended to everyone she met, and those who truly knew her cherished her for the unique and genuine person she was.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Darnell Woods; her father, George K. Taylor Sr.; her siblings Evan ("Stormy"), Cynthia Clayton, George A. Taylor; and her dearest and best friend, Glenn Hayes.

Clyneese leaves behind to mourn her loss her loving mother, JoAnn Johnson; her sisters Myrtle Lynch, Carrie (James) Evans, Dora Price, Sylvia (Keith) Johnson, Andrea Armstrong, Veattia Cook, and Kate Venable; her brother, George K. Taylor; her daughter, JoAnn Hart; her grandchildren, Jasmire Noel and Carla Yarbro; her great-grandson, Nehemiah King; and a host of extended family members and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.

Though we are heartbroken by her passing, we find solace in knowing that God’s timing is perfect. Clyneese’s vibrant spirit and infectious laughter will live on in all of us until we are reunited with her in Heaven.

Rest in peace, dear Clyneese. We love you more than words can express, and we wish we had told you more while you were with us.
