Colleen Kay Merillat Adcock, age 71, a resident of Westfield, passed on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Kindred Hospital North in Indianapolis.
Colleen was born April 28, 1955 in Wauseon, OH to Denver and Virginia (Lillich) Merillat. She graduated from Angola High School in Angola, IN in 1972 and went on to study nursing at Goshen College, graduating in 1977. During high school, she spent 6 months in Guatemala as an exchange student where she returned and worked with Wycliffe Bible Translators during a one-year break from college. After college graduation, she spent the next 48 years practicing in various aspects of nursing until her retirement in 2025. She married Terry L. Adcock on August 5, 1978 and embarked on a journey that produced three children and 12 grandchildren. Colleen enjoyed knitting, camping, and time with family. With her husband, Terry, she enjoyed traveling, fishing, fly-fishing, and attending musical shows at Dollywood.
Above everything else, she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and never passed up opportunities to share that with others. She served at her church in many areas including children’s ministry, choir, leading small groups, and mentoring young women. She was a kind, loving person who brought smiles to people’s faces.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Adcock, three children, Benjamin Adcock, Daniel Adcock, and Hannah (Adcock) Martinez, 11 grandchildren, and sister Gail (Merillat) Coler. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Merillat, and grandson Dylan Martinez.
A celebration of life will be held on August 22, 2026 at City of Lights Church, 465 East 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46240 with visitation beginning at 12:00 pm, immediately followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm.

I attended church in Dallas with Colleen. She helped me get a mental health technician job while I was in college and then she took me with her to her next two nursing jobs. She worked hard, gave her best, helped others’ reach their potential, and was lots of fun! I can’t wait to reunite someday!
