David Lee Anderson of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully Monday February 17, 2025, after a brief illness at his home. He was born on November 20, 1953, in Lorain, Ohio, the son of Carl E. & Catherine M. Anderson. He grew up in Sheffield Lake, Ohio, and after graduating from Brookside High School, he was employed by Lorain Telephone Company, then Cen-Tel in Lorain for many years. He eventually was employed by ATT in Michigan and Indiana as a lineman for several years in the phone industry, prior to his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing, working outdoors in the yard, putting puzzles together, playing cards and doing crossword puzzles. David also enjoyed watching sports, old time Westerns, and most especially watching episodes of The Andy Griffith Show which was one of his all-time favorites.
David is survived by his brother Dennis Anderson of Oregon, and two sisters, Jane (Rick) Nagel of Ohio, and Cheryl Anderson of Illinois, and sister-in-law Jeanette Anderson of Amherst, Ohio. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, including best friend and companion Mary Wood. David was preceded in death by his loving parents Carl & Catherine Anderson, and two brothers Robert W. (Bobby) Anderson and Carl John (CJ) Anderson and sister-in-law Ann Anderson.
Per David’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be planned later.
