Dennis W. Demoss

Dennis W. Demoss of Indianapolis, passed away at the age of 77 on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Dennis was born Wednesday, June 23, 1948, to Dennis Demoss and Helen (Fields) Newport in Shelbyville, Indiana. Dennis proudly served in the U.S. Navy as FN from 1966 to 1968. He served aboard the USS Hamner, Stationed at Naval Station in San Diego, California and was then deployed to Vietnam before retiring with honorable discharge. He was awarded the National Defense Medal with 1 bronze star. He was a member of The American Legion, The Moose, and VFW. Throughout his lifetime he enjoyed fishing and loved the Indianapolis Colts. Dennis was a jack-of- all-trades ranging from Sheriff, Detective, Paramedic, Security, Car salesman, Truckdriver and much more. Dennis is survived by his wife Teresa Demoss, sons Dennis (Margaret) Demoss, Jimmy (Robin) Tubbs, Grandchildren Tyler, Carrie, Brandon, Seth, Jaden, Jim Grant (Kathy). Brother Randy Demoss, and many nieces and nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death his father William Demoss and Mother Helen Newport; grandparents Orville and Laveda Demoss; son, Gregg Wren; aunt, Dixie Acup.
A celebration of life will be 12 P.M. on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at the American Legion Post 64 with military honors.
