Summary

Donald Nolan Baker of Jeffersonville, IN passed away peacefully the morning of September 29th, 2024 after a brief illness. Don was born in Jackson, MI on May 11, 1967, to the late Richard and Elizabeth Baker.

Don graduated from Newton-Conover High School in North Carolina. After graduation in 1985, he served in the US Navy.

While awaiting the birth of his daughter, Kara, Don moved to Apopka, Florida. He sold time shares and tickets to all of the parks, resorts and activities in and around Disney World. He had a natural ability for sales and was skillful interacting with people. He loved this work and the people he met.

Years later, he moved to Jeffersonville, IN, to be closer to his aging father. Don settled easily into Jeffersonville as his new home. His generous heart and caring ways allowed him to make many friends. His closest friend will always be his brother Lance.

Don will always be remembered for his passion for music and the devotion to his animals. If he wasn’t listening to music, he was teaching himself the guitar or writing a song with his dogs, Doog and Izzy beside him.

His greatest joy came from his family and friendships he had throughout his life.

Donald is survived by his daughter, Kara Ann and his three siblings, Scotia Baker Minarsch, Dorcas Baker-Hunsucker and Lance Baker. Other surviving family members are Erhard Minarsch and brother-in-law Charles Hunsucker as well as nine nieces and nephews and nine great nieces and nephews.
