Gary Garland Casner, age 72, of Franklin, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, in Greenfield, Indiana. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Virginia and Dencil Casner.
Gary was a proud graduate of the Indiana School for the Deaf, Class of 1973. He played football, Basketball and Baseball at Deaf School. And also he played baseball league every summer too. He spent most of his career working as an assembler at General Electric, where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly personality. He enjoyed his retirement.
A devoted husband, Gary is survived by his loving wife Denise (Soales) Casner; two sons, Jason Wilson (Tania) of Middletown and Justin Wilson (MindyJo) of Indianapolis; and seven grandchildren who brought him great joy. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dencil Casner.
Gary was a diehard fan of the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, Indiana Hoosiers, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He loved cheering on his teams, sharing laughs, and enjoying life’s simple pleasures. Gary had a wonderful sense of humor that could light up any room, and he was known for making people laugh wherever he went.
He also had a big heart for animals, especially his beloved dog Lola, and he cherished every moment spent with his wife, Denise.
Per Gary’s wishes, there will be no formal service. His memory will live on in the hearts of his wife, family and friends who loved him deeply.
