Heather Alford, 53, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on September 28, 2026.
Heather was someone who loved everyone. It didn’t matter whether you were meeting her for the first time or had known her your entire life; when you were with Heather, you felt loved. She had a caring heart and a natural instinct to take care of the people around her, especially those who needed it most. Heather was also one of the most positive people you could ever meet. She had a remarkable ability to find the good in life, no matter the circumstances, and her positive outlook was contagious. She had a way of lifting the spirits of those around her and making things feel a little brighter simply by being there.
Above all else, Heather loved her family. She was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, a devoted daughter and sister, and the kind of friend everyone hopes to have. One of her greatest joys in life was being a grandmother. She treasured being a grandma to Marilynn and Rosemary and loved the time she was able to spend with them.
To the people closest to her, Heather was someone they could count on for love, comfort, friendship, and support. Her family was incredibly important to her, and the love she gave them will remain a part of their lives forever.
Heather also knew how to enjoy the things she loved. She was a fan of movies and football, with The Wizard of Oz holding a special place as her favorite movie. She was also a huge Neil Diamond fan.
Heather is survived by her husband, Kevin Alford; her children, Liberty Kyle, Benjamin Kyle, Lincoln Kyle, Nolan (Sarah) Alford, Colin (Hope) Alford, and Madelyn (Riley) Henson; her granddaughters, Marilynn Kyle and Rosemary Henson; her parents, Kenny and Mim Stellhorn; and her siblings, Elaine Fogleman, Valerie Brown, and Jeremy Stellhorn.
While Heather’s family and friends will miss her deeply, the love and positivity she gave so freely will continue through the countless people whose lives she touched. She will be remembered for her caring heart, her ability to see the good in life, the way she looked after others, and most of all, for her ability to make people feel loved.
For those fortunate enough to know Heather, being loved by her was something special; and something they will carry with them always.
