Summary
Joseph Allen Snyder was born on Thursday, June 7th, 1984, and tragically passed at the age of 40 on Friday, September 27th, 2024, after giving his all to fight injuries he received from a motorcycle accident.
Joe, Big Joe, Camel Toe Joe, Cherokee Joe, Joe Joe (as many of his friends and loved ones would call him) was anything less than a force to be reckoned with. His energy and personality were a presence that you couldn’t help but feel and want to be around. Joe would go out of his way to help a friend, friend of a friend, or anyone in need. Joe lived his life wanting to do as much as he could with a good cold beer in tow, because what adventure or problem isn’t better being conquered with a good cold beer.
Joe’s smile and laugh could be felt and was so incredibly contagious, even when he was covered in poo, yes poo. Joe spent his early adult years jumping feet first, literally, into poo as he worked in wastewater for the Town of Fishers. It wasn’t uncommon for him to be covered in whatever mess was backed up, but he did it with a “WTF” smile and deep belly laugh. Joe decided to go clean and spent the last 4 years of his life playing in the clean water for Citizens Energy Group.
Don’t let Joe’s age fool you, he was one big kid at heart. He loved building and playing with RC cars, taking his jeep (and maybe a truck or jeep that he had loans on) off roading, climbing rocks, and playing in the mud. He had a love hate relationship with wrenching; he could do just about anything himself but if it didn’t go the way he wanted then “F it” he was done with it and he would pay someone to fix it or buy a new one, don’t worry he always came back around to it.
There was nothing that a cruise on his motorcycle wouldn’t solve for Joe or make him feel at peace, besides that cold beer. Joe never missed an opportunity to get a new vehicle that always ended up being his dream vehicle that he had always wanted. Everything was of course burn out tested to see if it could hold its own.
Joe’s final days were spent with his closest loved ones by his side, the people that he would have done anything for at a drop of a dime and those whose lives he forever changed more than he will ever be able to truly understand. While Joe’s life was tragically cut way too short, his helping hand and love continues through his heroism of organ donation and the many lives he will continue to change and impact.
Joe will be remembered for his big heart, his generosity, and his absolute selflessness and desire to help others. May we always remember Joe’s smile and laugh and know that life is a ride worth living to the fullest. Cheers to your forever ride Joe!
