Judson Gilbert Miller

Our Dad, Judson Gilbert Miller, went Home to his Heavenly Father on March 8, 2026 at 10:38 pm. Jud, fondly referred to by many as “J. G.,” was born March 31, 1938 to Paul Spencer and Dorothy Catherine (Green) Miller. He was raised in Brightwood, and was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School, Class of 1956. Jud married the love of his life, Carol Eileen Price (d. 5/27/2016) on December 22, 1956, and raised their family in Indianapolis and Hendricks County. Jud worked a couple of years at Major Tool & Die before following his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps working for the railroad, NY Central/Penn Central/CSX/Conrail, for 40+ years until he retired in 2000. Jud and Carol raised four children together: Mark Judson (Judi); Brian Dale (Terri); Marillyn Elaine Martin (John); and Stephanie Catherine Hill. Jud is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his brothers William “Bill” Miller, Charles “Chuckie” Wallace and Larry Wallace, and his sister, Cheryl Beth Miller. Jud is survived by all 4 of his children, 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Dad was a central figure in all our lives, sharing his love for camping, fishing, golfing and playing cards; bringing much fun, love, laughter, friendly competition and joy to all of his friends and family. He is loved and will be missed immeasurably. There will be an intimate memorial service to spread Jud and Carol’s ashes together at long last.

  1. My only regret is not getting to know my dad (Chuckies) side of the family more growing up. On the two occasions I have been blessed to be around Uncle Judd (both funerals) he has such a huge smile to share, a warm hug, and a love that just radiated from the inside. We did talk on the phone oonce and his greatest joys were his family, talking of his grandkids and ballgames.

I am fortunate to have gotten to meet him. To know Uncle Judd was to love ❤️ him!
