Margaret Inez (Wharton) Maners

Margaret Inez Maners, born March 12, 1948, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on Mother’s Day, May 11, 2025, at 5:05 p.m., surrounded by her family.

Margaret attended Herculaneum High School and went on to build a life filled with simple joys and deep love for those around her. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and always looked forward to the fun and tradition of the Indiana State Fair.

Margaret had a deep love for animals- especially her cats and dogs- and rarely missed an episode of her favorite soap opera, The Young and the Restless.

Margaret had a special bond with her grandchildren and cherished the time spent with them.

She is survived by her daughter, Paula (Jamie) Glenn, grandchildren, Richard (Jessica) Parker, Kyle (Amanda) Parker. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, Nicoli and Harley Parker, Brandon and Christopher Parker. sisters, Paulette McCoy and Janet (Conrad) Altizer, brother, John Wharton (Ron Glenn).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and Paul Wharton; her sisters, Norma Hodges and Judy Moore; and her brother, Paul David Wharton.

Before her passing, Margaret accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior, bringing peace to her and her family.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Margaret will be remembered for her warmth, gentle spirit, and the love she had for her family.

  1. I love and miss you so much Mom ❤️. I’m trying to be strong like you asked me to do but it’s really hard. 🙁 I know you are now watching over all of us from Heaven. I’ll see ya there 🙏🏻.

  2. Margaret is my older sister. I have alot of memories, of us growing up together. I will miss her. I was glad I at least got to talk to her before she left us. I told her that I love her and that I would meet see her on the other side.

  4. She is my older sister. I have alot of memories of us growing up. I will miss her. I got to talk to her about a week before she left us. I told her that I love her and that I would see her on the other side.

  5. Margaret always treated me great as her son-in-law. I’m so glad she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. RIP and be that Guardian Angel for Paula, the Kids, and the Grandkids. I’ll see you there

  6. Sisters share a tie that endures beyond space and time. No longer in this world. I can’t call you but I will never stop talking to you. RIP Margaret I miss you, I love you.

  7. She was gone so quickly once I heard she was unwell. It took me awhile to figure out what to say and it all felt inadequate, but here it is anyway. I am so grateful that in the last few years we were able to reconnect through phone calls. We had many wonderful conversations and it was so good to have her to talk with. I miss her so much more than can be conveyed.
