Nancy Lou Joyce, 79, of Corydon, IN, peacefully passed away Monday February 16, 2026 in Greenwood, IN. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she will be deeply missed. Nancy was born on June 24, 1946 in Charles City, IA to Lucile and Merlin Venz. She is survived by her older brother Al (Renee) Venz of Northwood, IA and younger sisters Linda (Rex) Bates of Ft.Collins, CO and Judy Lindquist of Houston, TX. She was a tiny, but scrappy tomboy who loved to play sports with her big brother, play cards, and listen to ball games on the radio at her grandma’s house. Nancy joined the Women’s Army Corp in March 1965 and was stationed in White Sands, NM where she met her future husband, Larry Joyce, who was stationed at the same base. While in the Army, Nancy was a clerk and played on a women’s basketball team. Nancy was discharged from the Army in March of 1968 and went on to marry Larry on October 5, 1968 in Charles City, IA. After exploring multiple cities and towns, as they pursued their higher education for their first 10 years of marriage, they settled in Corydon, IN to raise their three children. Nancy also enjoyed her job as a server for many years at restaurants The Seafood House, Ponderosa Steak House, and Ryan’s Buffet. She was an avid bowler and bowled with two weekly league teams in Corydon. Nancy loved to play cards with her family, with Hearts and 500 being her favorite games to play. A lifelong University of Iowa sports fan, Nancy was the self-proclaimed #1 Hawkeye Fan. In her later years, Nancy enjoyed driving around looking for deer (bambays). Her family will miss getting her nightly bambay report. Nancy is survived by her sons Tim (Stephany) Joyce of Greenwood, IN and Jeff (Brenna) Joyce of Franklin, IN and her daughter Julie (Mike) Hart of Panama City, FL as well as 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Larry Joyce. There will be a celebration of life for Nancy on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at 1:30PM at Calvary Baptist Church, 200 Sunset Blvd. Greenwood, IN.

She was a wonderful friend and neighbor to our family as our children were such good friends and playmates. God bless you children. Your parents are together again in Heaven, but they will always be with each of you every day and hour. God bless you all. Our world is dimmer with her loss, but Heaven is glowing and rejoicing.
