Peggy Sue Allen

Peggy Sue (House) Allen, age 57, of West Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Peggy was born on August 15, 1969, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Donald and Joan “Jodi” House. She grew up in West Terre Haute, attended West Vigo High School, and later continued her education at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.

Peggy was truly one of a kind—a woman with a fiery spirit, a larger-than-life personality, and a determination that was nearly impossible to match. Often heard long before she was seen, Peggy was never one to shy away from speaking her mind. Strong-willed, fiercely independent, and unapologetically herself, she loved a good debate and rarely passed up an opportunity to share her opinion. Her stubborn streak was legendary, but so was the passion with which she approached everything in life. With Peggy, you never had to wonder where you stood, and life was certainly never dull.

Peggy had a deep love for her family, her animals, and the simple joys of life. Whether she was horseback riding, getting lost in a good book, camping, crafting, traveling, or enjoying a shopping trip, she embraced the things that brought her happiness. She especially loved the freedom of the open road. Some of her favorite adventures were spontaneous road trips with her beloved husband, Mike, setting off with no particular destination and simply seeing where the road would take them. For Peggy, the journey itself was often the best part.

Among her greatest joys was spending time with her grandsons, Asher and Liam. Many cherished memories were made together in the barn, where she shared her love of horses and taught the boys how to ride. And when they weren’t spending time with the horses, Peggy could often be found taking them on wild rides in sport mode, creating the kind of laughter, excitement, and memories they will carry with them forever.

Peggy lived life on her own terms, with a bold personality, an adventurous heart, and a spirit that could never be tamed. She wasn’t afraid to be loud, stand her ground, or do things her own way. Those who knew her will remember her unmistakable presence, her feisty nature, and the way she could turn even an ordinary moment into a story worth telling. She leaves behind a lifetime of unforgettable memories and a legacy as unique and spirited as the woman herself.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Mike Allen; her son, Travis Lewzader, and his wife, Bryana; her cherished grandsons, Asher and Liam Lewzader; her sister, Annette Baker, and her husband, Jeff; her little sister, Lisa Bedwell, and her husband, Todd; her nephews, Craig, Ryan, Garrett, and Dalton; her aunt, Shirley; and her cousins, Terry (Tim) Weer, Penny (Greg) Aff, and Don (Michelle) Blair.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Joan “Jodi” House; her brother, Donald “Allen” House; and her aunt and uncle, Carolyn and Don Blair.

A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., at the place she loved most—The Farm, located at 11003 N. Shirley St., West Terre Haute, IN 47885. Family and friends are warmly invited to stop by, share memories, and celebrate Peggy’s life.

Peggy may no longer be here to make her presence known, but her voice, her laughter, her stories, and her unforgettable spirit will echo in the hearts of those who loved her for years to come.
