Phyliss Ann Karty

Phyliss Ann Karty

On Thursday, March 12th, 2026 Phyliss Ann Karty of Greenwood Indiana and Pensacola Florida went peacefully to her eternal rest. She was born September 18th, 1944 to the late Elbert & Sarah (Lay) Branam in Jellico Tennessee. She is without a doubt celebrating a grand reunion with her daddy who died when she was only 9 years old. A graduate of George Washington High School, she attended Kentucky Bible College, and worked several jobs after college. Eventually she became a surgical technician at St. Vincent Hospital. She continued to work at various hospitals eventually starting at St. Francis Hospital Beech Grove where she worked in admitting & then Educational Services as an Administrative Assistant.  She eventually worked her way up into an office manager position in Environmental Services at the Indianapolis Campus, where she worked until her retirement. After retirement she moved to Pensacola Florida where she was active at the Perdido Bay Methodist Church volunteering her time in the office,  with the Redemption Store, homebound ministry, and being the best Mrs. Clause at Christmastime.

She is survived by her loving husband Ronald L. Karty. They were married August 18th, 2007 after a long courtship, all totalling nearly 29 years together.

She was little sister to Louise Farley, and big sister to Karen Smith.

She will be forever cherished and deeply missed by her children, Beth (Rob Jones) & Jana Cody. As well as Jonathan (Jackie) Karty & Mary (Matthew Meyers) Karty.

She carried many titles in her life, but without a doubt her most proud title had many names, Grandma, G, & Mommo to name a few. We pray for peace for those most precious gifts Allison, Dalton, Paisley, & Ivey Guthrie. Amber, Cody, Westyn, & Scarlett Munn. Dana & Alex Karty. Zach, Helen, Zoey, Randy, & River Jones. Mackenzie, Alyssa, & Ian Jones.

To her little sister, her nieces & nephews she was known as Sissy. Joe, Joy, Sarah (Robert) Noble, & Josie Kuth. Steve, Ginger, and Willow Kuth. Kari (Kuth), Jay & Kelsey Farley. Abigail, Harrison, Daniel, & Amelia Durnhil. Stevie & Justin Chandler. Josh, Haylee, Zoey, & Brody Smith. P.J. Farley.
