Randy Ward, 69, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 15, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

Born in Indianapolis on November 18, 1956, Randy was the son of Max and Viola Ward. He attended Perry Meridian High School and graduated with the class of 1976. After high school, he continued his education at ITT Technical Institute and later worked as a repair technician for Toshiba.

Randy met Kandy at her mother’s restaurant in 1987, and they married in 1989. Together, they raised two children, Brandon and Ashley.

Although Randy’s career involved repairing things, his skill and love of fixing things extended far beyond the workplace. He loved getting his hands dirty and could fix just about anything. No project seemed too big for him. Even if he had never tried something before, he was always willing to give it the “good ole college try.”

Randy had a servant’s heart. Whether he had known someone for 20 years or just 20 seconds, he was ready to help. He would give the shirt off his back—and his last dollar—to help someone else succeed.

His family meant everything to him, and he treasured time spent together, whether working on projects around the house, sharing dinner around the table, or camping on the weekends. Randy was a simple guy with a complex love for people. Above all, he loved Jesus, and his family finds comfort in knowing he now rests in His arms.

Randy was preceded in death by his wife, Kandy; his parents, Max and Viola; and his brother, Don. He is survived by his children, Brandon and Ashley and his brother Kyle.
