Rebecca Sue Begeman, born October 15, 1959, in Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, December 7th, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and deep devotion to her family and friends.
Rebecca was the beloved daughter of Janice Ann Love (1927–2002) and Ted Love (1922–1992). She was the youngest sister of Sharon Ann Fox (1949-2012), Barbara Bergeron (b. 1951), and Debra Kay O’Dell (1955–2005). As the youngest, she was cherished by her siblings and embraced by a large and loving extended family.
A passionate and longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi, Rebecca found joy, purpose, and lifelong friendship within her sorority. She treasured the opportunities it gave her to serve others and build strong, enduring bonds.
Rebecca later married Tobert Begeman, who played a meaningful role in her life and family story.
She was a devoted and deeply cherished aunt.
From her sister Sharon, she was loved by her nephew Michael (Libby) Fox and his son Jackson Fox.
From her sister Debbie, she lovingly remembered her niece Amanda Rose O’Dell (1995–2000) and Garrett Lee O’Dell.
From her sister Barbara, she was treasured by nephews Brian (Lori) Bergeron and Jason Bergeron.
Through her brother-in-law York Begeman (1956–2017), she was also beloved by nieces Abigail Begeman and Emily (Andrew Kanis) Begeman, and their children Lilian Begeman, Yorick Kanis, and Elm Kanis.
Rebecca was known for her warmth and hospitality. She was a passionate friend and a loving host, always creating a welcoming space for those she cared about. She is survived by close friends Jeff and Carol Smithson, her childhood best friend Sue Haymaker and her husband Dink, and her sorority sister Bea Collins and her husband John Collins.
Her happiest moments were spent tending her home and gardens, hosting friends and family, gathering around bonfires, and serving home-cooked meals. She was also a devoted animal lover. Rebecca is survived by her beloved pets Willow, Ellie, and Massie, who will continue to be lovingly cared for by Jeff and Carol. She also held close the memories of her dearly loved pets who passed before her: Evie, Mocha Mae, and Angel.
Rebecca will be remembered for her passions, strong heart, her unwavering loyalty, and her ability to make everyone feel like family.

I am so thankful that I came and saw you right right before you passed only we couldn’t get together with the rest of the Brylane family. Rebecca, you as I told you , youwere my mentor as well as Connie was I will miss you. I’m sorry we didn’t keep in touch, but we were back in touch when it counted. Love you Rebecca.
