Robert Craig McAtee

Robert “Bob” McAtee, age 64 of Greene County Indiana, moved on from this life around 5AM on the morning of Sunday October 12th 2025 at home peacefully in his sleep. 

Everyone who knew Bob were touched by his profound kindness, humbleness, intelligence and work ethic. 

Bob retired from MCCSC and had worked previously at Boston Scientific and various other employers. 

Bob had numerous interests, passions and hobbies. He was an avid lover of all things art, nature, science and history. Bob was a curious inquisitive soul who held a lifelong love of learning and reading. In his youth Bob enjoyed painting, wood working and riding his motorcycle on road trips. Additionally, Bob enjoyed board games, computer games, science fiction shows / movies, oldies music, antique tractors and even building architectural models using computer softwares. 

Bob attended Linton Stolkton Highschool and later attended Ivy Tech Columbus where he studied his most paramount passion – Photography. Bob took thousands of photos of the natural world but his favorite place to take photos was Cataract Falls. 

Most importantly, Bob was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and son.

After the passing of his brother John in 2008, Bob moved in with his sister April and they spent the last 17 years together taking care of each other. 

Bob was a gentle and loving father of 3. He always emphasized empathy, respect, responsibility and integrity. When his children were little he enjoyed sharing wuth them his vast knowledge of the world, helping them with school projects and reading to them. 

 Bob adored his 5 grandchildren most of all and collected a plethora of photos of them on his phone. He loved any opportunity to be with them and enjoyed attending family gatherings such as birthdays and holidays where he would always gift them books, sharing with them his joy of reading. 

Although Bob has now moved on from this life, the abundant teachings, principles, passions and values he bestowed upon his children and grandchildren will positively impact and inspire them and all whom they encounter for many generations to come. 

Rest in peace Bob McAtee, the world will never forget your presence, you were so loved and will be dearly missed. 

Bob is survived by his three daughters, Jessica Ingram, Amber McAtee, and Samantha Hutton; 4 granddaughters, Harley Rupe, Magnolia Rich, Shiloh Rich, and Juniper Ingram, and his grandson, Asher Harden; his sister, April Askins.

He is preceded in death by his brother, John McAtee, Jr., and parents John and Dorothy McAtee.

A celebration of life will be held for Bob on Saturday November 8th at 12PM at the Freedom Community Center 5552 Freedom Arney Rd Freedom Indiana 47431 all whom knew him or the family are welcome to attend.
