Roger Duncan

Roger Duncan

Summary

Roger Duncan passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family on September 17th, 2024. Born to William and Wilma (Southard) Duncan in Evansville on September 26, 1953. Roger lived a life full of love and dedication to his family, his friends, and his faith.

Roger was married to the love of his life and best friend, Vicki (Giolitto) Duncan for 43 years. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Stefanie Wagner and son, Brad Duncan. He loved his son-in- law, Ryan Wagner and his daughter-in-law, Molly (Meyer) Duncan as if they were his own children. His grandchildren, Brayden Wagner, Savannah Wagner, and David Duncan were truly the joy of his life.

He is survived by his siblings, Tom Duncan of Sun City AZ; Ron Duncan (Shannon) of Evansville, IN, and his sister, Vicki (Duncan) Hunter of N. Fort Myers, FL: and nieces Malynda Howard and Alisah Duncan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilma, and William (Tom) Duncan and his father-in-law, Ed Giolitto.

Roger loved the game of golf. He had the admiration of his friends for his ability to hit a long drive, often remarking he just wished he knew the direction he was hitting the ball. His quick wit and humor will be dearly missed. Some of his fondest memories took place on a golf course, assisting with the Jr. golf program, playing golf at St Andrews with Brad, and achieving 2 holes-in-one.

Roger loved cooking for his family and friends, hosting shrimp boils and making gumbo. He treasured baking with his grandchildren during the holidays.

Roger traveled extensively, but his favorite trips were spending Spring Breaks in Florida with his children and their families.

In 2014, Roger retired from Pipe Trades, Local 136 concluding a 36-year career as a Project Controls Manager. His hands-on experience, love of technology, and dedicated work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. After retiring, Roger moved from Evansville to Fisher, IN where he and Vicki found a strong community of deep friendships and support for their faith.

We want to express our gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Kelvin Lee, Sara Bretsch Klingkammer, Kelcy Clark, and all of the Drs. Nurses, and staff at IU Cancer Center, as well as, Paradigm Hospice for the incredible care Roger received.

We hope that you will join us at a Celebration of Life for Roger. It will be held at Britton Falls Villa in Fishers on Sunday, November 3rd from 1:00pm-4:00pm

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Miles for Myeloma foundation of IU (https://cancer.iu.edu/community/m4m/index.html) to support research and help find a cure for Multiple Myeloma.
