Russell Farrell Walls, 72, of Brooklyn, Indiana, passed away at his home on May 02, 2026. Born on May 11, 1953, in Martinsville, Indiana, Russell was the son of Robert and Freda Walls. Russell proudly served his country by enlisting in the Army in November 1973. Shortly thereafter, he transferred to the Army National Guard in February 1974, where he continued his service with dedication and honor until October 1979.

Russell found joy and peace in the great outdoors. He cherished the tranquility of nature, and was an avid fisherman who loved to hunt morels in the spring. These hobbies brought him countless moments of happiness and connection with the world around him.

He is survived by two sons Russell Walls Junior and Thomas Walls, and one daughter Leigh Ann (Jason) Whitehead; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his beloved chihuahua Paco; brother Edward (Kim) Walls and sisters Roviena (John) Wagner and Dorothy Hornaday. Russell was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Freda Walls; his sisters Ellen Perkins, Marilyn Waldrip, and Delores Gilman; and his brothers Cecil Walls and James Walls. Russell’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his legacy bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
