Sandra Arlene (Huston) Harper, 66, of Anderson, Indiana was called to be with her maker on Friday, May 30, 2025. Sandy lost her light after battling stage 4 lung cancer.
She was born on January 12, 1959 in Anderson, Indiana to the late Arlie and Shirley (Jones) Huston.
She was a mother to Racheal M. Powers and Christopher A. Powers; a stepmother to Michelle Kowalski, Tammy Harper, Dusty Arney and Nicole Arney; a grandmother to Savannah Hamel, Mia Wampler, Carter Crouch and Layne Arney; a sister to William G. Huston, Winona (Huston) Powell, and Herb Huston.
Her life began in Anderson, Indiana, but for the last 30 years she called southern Indiana her home. She spent the last 18 years in Poland, Indiana where she lived and loved Don Arney. Don passed away in 2016 and Sandy continued to live in their shared home until her last days. Her employment at Young Trucking Company was one she was proud of. She drove a dump truck for almost 30 years and spent the last 15 with Young Trucking. Sandy had a full, exciting and loving life. Her last few weeks were spent with her family surrounded by love. She will be missed by all who knew her. Our memories and love will always keep her close to our hearts and alive in our dreams. A celebration of life will be held in early fall in Anderson, Indiana. Dates will be announced via social media. We love you, Momma. Rest easy.

Even though you didn’t make it to the end of my story, I will always have the corner folded down on your page …. because it was one of my favorites.”
Though the book of your life closed before its final chapter, the pages we shared early in our lives remain vividly etched in my heart. You hold a special place, a corner folded down on the page of my life’s story, a favorite chapter that, though incomplete, holds a unique and enduring beauty.
The time we spent together was significant and deeply valued, a testament to the profound impact you had on my journey. And while our story may not have reached its intended ending, the memories we created remain a treasured keepsake, a testament to our friendship.
Save me a seat, Sandy. Love you!❤️❤️❤️
