Summary
Scott Allen Krouse “Scooter,” 69 of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024 at Indiana University Hospital after a short illness.
Scott was born December 30, 1954, in Galesburg, Illinois to the late Jean K. (Wing) and Robert O. Krouse.
He was a 1973 graduate of Mt. Zion High School but spent most of his school years in his hometown of Brimfield, Illinois. Scott went on to study Transportation and Traffic Management at Illinois Central College as well as Social Sciences and History at Richland Community College.
Scott leaves a legacy of professional achievements over his 4 decades in the tower industry. He began his career in the tower industry at Rohn in February 1985 and ended it with NATE Wireless Industry Network (WIN). Although, he officially retired in April of 2021, he was proud to have received the NATE Chairman’s Coin in February of 2023. Post retirement he continued to work with his NATE WIN family at other industry associations’ events.
He also loved riding motorcycles. This was truly his happy place, and he cultivated many decades long friendships with his motorcycle family. Scott served as VP on the board of the IMRG (Indian Motorcycle Riders Group). His friends said he was often the one who pulled everyone together for rides and was referred to as “Rand McNally” because he mapped every detail. These rides often came with a history lesson by Scott. He often said, “I remember a lot of information, mostly useless information, but information nonetheless!”
Scott had a love for life and lived it to the fullest. His love of motorcycle riding, traveling and the friends he made encompassed a huge part of his life. His quick wit, infectious smile, sharp mind, and great sense of humor will continue to inspire conversations well beyond his departure. He was truly loved by all that knew him. His legacy will live on through his family and friends.
A private graveside service is pending, and a Celebration of Life is being planned for Saturday June 29th, 2024, at Elkhart Indian Motorcycle where family and co-workers are welcome to gather in celebration of Scott.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be sent to Elkhart IMRG Chapter #1986, C/O Elkhart Indian Motorcycle, 3016 Brittany Court, Elkhart Indiana 46514 for their work toward the benefit of Veterans and the rescue of young Female Survivors of Sex Trafficking.

Sorry for your loss of such a great brother and son!! I got to know Scott when he moved to MtZion in the 70’s. By association as school mates, sports mates, snow cone connoisseur’s and band mates ( ah yes70’s & 80’s rock were like blood in our veins ) I found friendship with a guy that spoke his mind always and was truly the most good natured of souls. Thankful that we had finally reconnected a little in the later years. (He seemed great in September last year at our 50th
reunion. Scott we are truly gonna miss ya brother. May God hold you and you rest in peace. Hope he has room for that Hammond organ!!!!
