Terry was born October 4, 1957 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Raymond Lewis Jones and Charlotte Rose Holt.

Terry is survived by five siblings, Michael Jones, Crystal Cortez, Sherry Jones, Gail Lloyd, and Raymond Jones. He was preceded in death by his son, Terry Eugene Jones, Jr.
