Vanecia Lee Sleath Johnson 61, faithfully finished her earthly race & entered the presence of her Lord & Savior on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. She was born March 9, 1964 to be beloved mother Mary Jane Henley, who she proudly & lovingly was a caregiver for in her life. She is proceeded in passing to her beloved brother Adrian Dane Henley & husband Marty Johnson. A very loving sister to her brother Ronald Henley, who resides in Colorado. She spent her best times with her family & close friends Marjorie Vaughn Purkerson, Ron Dicker, Phil Kenny & Dave Webber. Vanecia was a loving Daughter, sister, aunt, friend & mother to her two daughters Capurnicus Ortuno & Nytessa Carter who she loved more than anything. A very devoted, loving aunt to her nephews Adrian Dane Henley Jr & Andy Henley. She lived a life rooted in faith, family, kindness, & service to others. She was an avid animal lover to all animals, especially her beloved Mildred. Through her journey she touched many lives, including her 8 grandchildren who will miss her dearly. Her unwavering spirit of perseverance inspired us all. She will be spoke of daily, thought of often, & greatly missed. Her celebration of life was held on 02/20/2026 at her beloved church Power of Prayer. It was a beautiful service, thank you all who attended.

I was sorry to hear of your mom’s passing.
I was one of childhood friends, when she lived in Grand Junction. We had reconnected in 2004, it was so great to reconnect with her. then . Then we lost touch again. I missed placed her contact info. But she had on mind , so last night I had googled and obituary popped up. It broke my heart. She was such a good friend,we had some many good times together. I missed her so much when her and the family moved away. I you receive this. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
