Summary
Wayne Arthur “Butch” Sheehan, age 84, of Indianapolis, passed away the morning of July 14th, 2025. He was so strong and fought a tough battle with cancer. His family surrounded him with love, until the Lord called him home. He was born on August 4th, 1940.
To have known Butch, was to love him. He was known by many names: son, brother, husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa and friend.
Butch was married to Mary Lou (Bradley) Sheehan, and they just recently celebrated their 32nd anniversary. He was a devoted husband who spoiled her and took care of her every need. They could be found hanging out together with their many animals over the years. You wouldn’t want to bother him in the morning because he would be watching, Let’s Make A Deal & The Price Is Right. Later, you can bet, he would have NASCAR, golf, basketball or some other sporting event, on the t.v.
He was an incredible dad to Cheri (Serg) Stojkovich, Lori (Kurt) Tietz, Bradley (Cari) Sheehan and Bethany Sheehan; stepchildren: Tamme Kercheval & Rob Scobee. He loved each one of them in a special way and would do anything for them. When the grandchildren and great grandchildren came along, he had a twinkle in his eye for them and his heart grew even bigger. Grandchildren: Kasey (Ryan) Burns, Trevor (Hannah) Tietz, Karisa (Jamie) Reynolds, AriAnna Sheehan, Alexis Sheehan, Makenzie Sheehan, Braeden Sheehan; seven step grandchildren; great grandchildren: Ayden, Akai, August and Lillian, and seven step great grandchildren. He was so very proud of each one and loved them beyond words.
His favorite holiday was Christmas; there was always a race to see who would have their tree up first. Butch always won! He loved wearing his elf hat on Christmas, and fixing a huge breakfast spread, made with great love.
Butch’s work ethic was notable and seen by all. He was such a hard worker and always showed up. He worked for Bredensteiners Printing & Imaging and Printing Partners. Butch had just recently retired, from South Grove Golf Course. He enjoyed working and made so many friends over the years.
Butch’s best friend, Larry, would always be there by his side no matter what was going on.
Although we can’t see him, hug him, or hear his voice, our precious memories will fill our hearts until we see you. Until then, Butch, we love you forever and always.
A Celebration of Life, to honor Butch, will be held on August 31, 2025, at Eagle Creek Golf Course, located at 8802 W 56th St, Indianapolis, In. 46234, from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simple Cremation Indianapolis, located at 6904 S. East St, Suite E Indianapolis, In. 46227. Condolences to the family may be left at simplecremationindianapolis.com.

Uncle Butch, I will always remember so many great memories with you growing up. Coming over to your house, swimming, your homemade ice cream, fishing with you, my Dad, and Grandad at the cabin. You have a special place in my heart. Love you always!
