William Floyd Poe

William Floyd Poe was born to Florine and William Anthony Poe on February 18th, 1963, in Hinsdale, Illinois. Raised in Downers Grove, “Billy” attended Washington Elementary, Herrick Junior High, North High School, and North Fairview Bible Church; later, residing in Gary, Indiana, church home was then there. William was last attending church in Indianapolis; this would be his last while battling aggressive prostate cancer.

William preceded us in death on February 25th, 2025, and was 62 years old; preceding him at rest are his father William A. Poe, brother Anthony E. Poe, sister Victoria R. Poe, and the love of his life, Belinda Reed. Surviving William at rest are his mother Florine Poe, daughters Savannah Watson and Arica Perry, sisters Linda Toney (Willie), Theodora Poe (Rex), Joyce Henderson, brothers Richard Poe (Monica), Timothy & Thomas Poe, stepchildren, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Also surviving William are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, his aunts and uncles, and many childhood friends he stayed in touch with.

A private memorial service and repast will be officiated by Pastor Scott Fisher at an undisclosed time and location on March 15th.

The family of William Floyd Poe also expresses gratitude to Jessen Funeral Home & Simple Cremation, friends, relatives, and North Fairview Bible Church.

  1. Billy was a good friend. He was a kind hearted person. I love him very much. He’s very well missed by his friends. You will always hold a special place in my heart. He was a kind person as door was always open to anyone who was hungry or tired. I love you, Billy.
